Classic Essentials You Need To Elevate Your Look in 2023

New Year, New Year. Start off the new year with these basic pieces to elevate your wardrobe.

Don’t get me wrong, I love fashion trends from one season to the next. But this past year, I have been into more staple pieces and sustainability when it comes to shopping for clothes. I wanted to elevate my closet, be comfy but look chic just as well. How can you do that? Easy, it’s called staple basic pieces!

Classic Button Down

The Classic Button Down is a must-have in every closet. Stick to simple colors such as white, creams, and blues. Add a little flair with accessories or add your own personal styling touch!

Trousers

The best part about trousers is not only do they look chic with everything you wear but if you’re all about comfort, they’re just as comfy too!

The Striped Sweater

A striped sweater can be paired with anything, from jeans, leggings, a maxi skirt, a mini skirt, trousers, you name it! Add a little something with a pair of classic sunglasses and a tote bag.

The Pullover Sweater

Or as Vogue liked to put it, the 'All-Purpose Knitwear'. And I must say, I agree with them! Make sure when you invest in your knitwear, invest in pieces that you know/feel will last you a long time. Not only that but make sure you research how to take care of the materials your knitwear is made out of! Will help your knits last all year long and even longer!

Blazers

Blazers are a MUST in your closet. Layer them all you want or dress them casually by pairing them with your favorite jeans. Regardless, blazers can make you feel chic and powerful at the same time.

Essential Accessories

You can never go wrong with accessories! Little accessories can complete an outfit and go a long way. Some pieces I think will complete an outfit are Gold Jewelry (or Silver), a Classic Watch, and Timeless Sunglasses. Additional accessories not pictured are scarves, belts, and bags!

Closing Thoughts

These basic pieces can elevate your look when styled properly. You know what they say, less is sometimes more! What basic pieces will you be adding to your closet?
